Spend Three Weeks Writing Your Custom Erotic Story!

In this three-week workshop held for two hours on Monday nights, you’ll learn how to voice your fantasies, break out of any fear or stigma you have about erotic fiction, and really enjoy writing your own romantic story! I’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide on writing it, guidance on what works (and what doesn’t!), and a workshop with your peers to discuss your work. You’ll also get individualized editing and suggestions from a published, professional erotic fiction writer — me!

The workshop is capped at 10 participants, and you can share as much or as little as you like. We’ll use Google Hangouts and Google Docs to meet and share our work, so make sure you have a Google account (you can sign up for free here).

Week 1: Learn About Erotic Fiction

Monday, January 30 – 7pm – 9pm CST

We’ll do a brief reading comparing what works in erotic fiction — and what doesn’t. We’ll explore common language and expectations, as well as ways to express your individual erotic desires or fantasies (or those of your partner!).

Week 2: Write An Erotic Story of Your Own

Monday, February 6 – 7pm – 9pm CST

I’ll take you step-by-step through the process of writing your own erotic story, from ideation, to outlining, to writing, to editing.

Week 3: Workshop Your Erotic Story

Monday, February 13 – 7pm – 9pm CST

We’ll share our stories (as much as we’re comfortable) and workshop them together, just as you would in a creative writing class. I’ll also provide private feedback and editing for those who may not feel comfortable sharing with a class.

Valentine’s Day

Tuesday, February 14

At the end of week 3, you’ll have a two-page erotic story that you can be proud of. (A “one-handed read” as we call them in the business!) You’ll be able to share it with a friend or lover or keep it to yourself.

Register today — only 10 spots available!

To keep the class size intimate and manageable, this experience is only available to 10 people — first come, first served. We cannot reserve spots, so only paid registrations will hold your spot.

The cost is $50 due at registration. Bring a +1 and get a 15% discount — register together for only $85!

Registration closes Saturday, January 28 — so hurry!

DISCLAIMER: You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this class. Because of the nature of the workshop, we cannot provide refunds. All stories are the property of their authors and by participating, you agree not to share other people’s work anywhere outside of the workshop. You also agree to abide by the community rules of the workshop, which include: full consent (ask before you do something!), no kink shaming (this includes anything considered “plain” or “vanilla”!), and respect. I will not tolerate incivility, hostility, or bullying of any kind and will remove participants who threaten the safety and intimacy of the workshop space.

About Me

As a published erotic fiction author with over 15 years of experience, I love helping aspiring erotic writers come out of their shells and explore what gets them going. I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing – Fiction from The New School University in New York, where I also participated in classes on the teaching of writing. I am a poet, copywriter, and marketing professional in my spare time, and I can’t wait to help you write your own erotic story!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the workshops be held?

The workshops will be held online via Google Hangouts. You will receive a calendar invitation to the Hangouts session at the email you use to register. We will also use Google Docs to share our work. While you do not need a Google account to use Google Hangouts, you will need one to use Google Docs. You can sign up for a free Google account here.

How long are the workshops?

Each workshop is two hours, starting at 7pm CST and ending at 9pm CST. We will take a 10 minute break at the one-hour mark.

How much does the workshop cost?

The workshop is $50 per person, which includes all three sessions as well as personal access to me, your editor and coach. If you want to register as a couple, you get a 15% discount — select the “couple” option at checkout and get two slots for $85. There is no additional cost for materials — we’ll be looking at work in the public domain or owned by me.

What do I get out of the workshop?

You get a brief but thorough introduction to erotic fiction, coaching on what works in erotic fiction and what doesn’t, and a step-by-step plan for writing your story. You also get valuable workshop time with peers and exclusive editing from a professional writer (that’s me!) to perfect the final work. At the end of the workshop, you will have a short (~1,000 word or two-page) story that you can share or keep to yourself.

Will my story be published?

No, this workshop does not include publication of your story. However, if you’re interested in discussing publishing, we can talk about that separately!

Do I have to share my story?

You don’t have to share anything you don’t want to in this workshop. You can even use a pseudonym. However, to get the most out of the course, it’s best to be willing to share your work so that you can get a full view of the writing process. We’ll have a small, intimate group with a promise of safe space and consideration, so you can share as much (or as little) as you’re comfortable sharing. This includes using a pseudonym and not turning on your camera during sessions if you don’t want to.

What is the workshop format?

We will meet in Google Hangouts (you’ll receive a calendar invitation with a link to the email address you register with) from 7-9pm on Monday nights January 30, February 6, and February 13. We will start with a brief ice breaker, then delve into our subject matter for the evening, with a 10-minute break around 8pm. The basic format will include a variety of me sharing my screen, reading aloud, short writing prompts, self-reading time, and workshop/chatting about our work.

Can I get a refund if I don’t like my story or can’t make it?

Unfortunately, because of the nature of the workshop, we cannot offer refunds if you’re dissatisfied. If you need to cancel or can’t attend, please contact me immediately to discuss making up the class or other options.

Is this porn?

Erotic fiction covers a wide swathe of genres, from the more explicit to the less explicit, and can include romance, sex, kink, or even just conversation.
